The idea of AIE

The Rector of USAE established the Academic Incubator of Entrepreneurship (AIE) project operating within the Karol Godula Upper Silesian Academy of Entrepreneurship. The AIE is realised in cooperation with the Academic Incubators of Entrepreneurship Foundation and co-funded by the Ministry of Economy.

The main objective of the AIE is rolling out among the USAE's students the idea of entrepreneurship by enabling them to establish, on supported conditions, their firms within the structure of the USAE Academic Incubator. It makes unique conditions to young and ambitious people by assistance in creation of new work-places as well as giving a chance and inspiring cooperation between scientific and research environments and businessmen.

The AIE Director assigned from among its direct beneficiaries manages current activity of the AIE. Besides of the AIE Director, also the USAE Incubator Coordinator is established as well as the AIE Council. They perform assistance in overall activity of the Incubator. Also the Rector of USAE takes up patronage over the AIE.

Conference inaugurating activity AIE

Activity of the AIE was inaugurated during the conference, which took place in 2005. The conference gathered more than 300 the USAE's students. The USAE Rector and the representative of Academic Incubators of Entrepreneurship Foundation made the conference active involvement. Among many others invited guests of the conference the following also took an active part:

• Paweł Kara¶ - District Office of Work in Ruda ¦l±ska City, Superior Referent of Labor Market Instruments Section
• Justyna Tomecka - Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice City, Head of Social Communication Department

Competition concerning the best business plans was announced during the conference in order to indicate the ideas, which should be commercialise within the AIE. Authors of most interesting ideas, properly prepared by consultation with scientific staff and businessmen, will set up firms in the Academic Incubator of Entrepreneurship on advantageous conditions, practically without incurring costs and risks. Such solution seemed to be quite impossible lately, however, the Academic Incubators of Entrepreneurship changed it.

What does the AIE offer?

Students interested in running their own firms can rely on the following assistance:

1. facilities concerning the space
2. access to phone, fax, computer and basic office fix-ups and office materials
3. capability to deployment of personal idea
4. keeping accounts of a firm by account office and free advices legally-tax
5. system of instruction for persons in incubator leading firm
6. right to use Academic Incubator of Entrepreneurship sign
7. assistance in gaining funds on investments
8. capability of promotion through the website: www.inkubatory.pl
9. counselling in range of personal creation of firm and current counselling in the course of period incubation
10. organisation of events (e.g. conferences, trades in incubator) promoting a firm
11. essential protection from the AIE Coordinator and the Council assistance as well as the Incubator advices and Incubator Director.
